More rebates for electric vehicles (EVs)

What’s in the news:Canada is investing heavily in electric cars, aiming to phase out the sale of new wholly gas-powered vehicles by 2035 and convert one-fifth of all new car sales to electric by 2026.

According to the car you buy and its range, the federal government will provide Canadians who buy some kind of ZEV* (Zero Emission Vehicle) a reimbursement of up to $5,000.

Rebates, however, differ at the provincial level. Ontario's rebate program was eliminated in 2018 as a cost-saving move by Premier Doug Ford. Other Premiers, though, have developed considerable incentives for locals.

The reasons why: One of the most costly things of life is transportation. Many people believed that EVs were like the Barbie Jeep for adults—fun to have, but expensive and maybe not very useful.

Driving an EV is now more inexpensive than ever, if you live in the correct province, thanks to price reductions from EV manufacturers and incentive-boosting incentives from the government.

North Dakota proposes to build a new state park

News: Canadian visitors are anticipated to visit the park because of its closeness to Winnipeg. To encourage tourism in the state's northeastern region, North Dakota plans to create a new state park in a beautiful canyon near to the Canada-U.S. border in Manitoba.

According to the Bismarck Tribune, the recently adjourned Legislature authorized $6 million for a Pembina Gorge state campsite that will be 1.6 kilometers from the trailhead of the Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area.

The money comes from the state's Strategic Investment and Improvements Fund, which receives money from oil tax receipts. A federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant also contributes $2 million to the total amount.

There are now 13 state parks in North Dakota. After Cross Ranch in 1989, the new park will be the first.
